March 3, 2020 MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL DIANNE CARTER
Happy Thursday, WRMS Families!
We have enjoyed yet another great week to be a Wildcat! 'Tis the season for UIL contests whether fine arts or academic! I love that our kids get to rock it in things they care enough about to spend extra hours preparing to showcase their talents - many extra hours. One very significant moment of joy this past week was actually this morning. I was checking out our science classes today. Here's why it was amazing… In every single class, kids were actively working on different things they had a chance to choose. In 6th grade and 8th grade, they are in the middle of projects. In 7th grade, they were working on either different levels of the same content OR they were just in different places along their individual learning path. The fact that our kids get to have the power to choose their path is huge. No...that doesn't happen every single day in every single class, but I am thankful that we have a staff that is willing to make it happen as much as they can. Each classroom had an excited low roar of noise created by many little conversations that were demonstrating learning. Beautiful…
I believe that is all for this week! We have one more week before a whole week to rest, relax, travel, sleep, laugh and whatever else everyone does with their Spring Break. We will make it!
Enjoy!
