November 21, 2019 MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL DIANNE CARTER
Happy Thursday, WRMS Families!
It has been another great week to be a Wildcat! I have to share my two favorite moments this week. First, earlier this week I turned the corner to walk down the science hallway only to find several kids lying on the floor. This can only mean one thing...Digestive System time! Yes, they were tracing each other to then glue the different organs in place so that they can then code a Sphero to travel the path food takes through the digestive system. Love it… The second one also has to do with food - so maybe that is a theme leading into Thanksgiving Break. I have had a few students decide that I (along with some other adults around here) have super powers that allow us to open things that others cannot. This week I was walking along when I was told, "We were just talking about you and trying to remember how you got this to open before!" I then proceeded to open a thermos that was being very difficult. We all cheered. I know that may sound silly, but these little moments are the ones that make my day.
I will stop there with the information items, and talk a little more about the Season of Giving and about gratitude. We have talked as a faculty about the fact that the most important things in life are not things that you can touch. Our hope throughout the Season of Giving is that our kids realize that the most important part of this experience is intangible. Many get it, and our goal is to help even more to "get it" as well. It's not about the toy...it's about the thought behind the toy. Often as we take the time to give to others, we have an opportunity to realize all the things we have to be grateful for.
Enjoy!

CAREER DAY Career Day Needs YOU!
WRMS 8th Grade Career Day is Friday, January 10, 2020! Volunteers and speakers needed!
It's that time of year again! Time to ramp up for our annual WRMS Career Day, focused on our 8th graders.
Career Day takes place over a w hours first thing in the morning, and offers several rotations for students to explore at their own election, which career presentations to attend. Dozens of volunteers are needed to pull this great event off, and more dozens of speakers are needed to offer a variety of professions and paths from which our students may one day choose.
We welcome speakers from all careers for this event, ranging from tradespersons to business professionals, and everything in between.
The intention behind this event is to illuminate the myriad of possibilities that our students will have available to them as they grow to find their talents, passions, interests, and resources that may eventually lead them to their chosen career in the future.
