October 10, 2019 MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL DIANNE CARTER
Happy Thursday, Wildcat Families!
I hope you have all had a good week! It has been a great week to be a Wildcat whether wearing short sleeves or a hoodie. I believe we will need to bring the hoodie back tomorrow! One of my favorite parts of this week was at our faculty meeting yesterday. I have made a vow to our faculty that we will never meet simply to meet and disseminate information. I always work to include something meaningful. We did some "chalk talk" yesterday with 6 different questions. One of the questions was, "What is the coolest act of kindness that you have seen this year?" Teachers were to respond to the questions by writing answers on a large piece of butcher paper. There was barely any space left to write on this one! To sum many up - we have lots of kids who are aware enough to do something nice for someone else without being asked to. Many also spoke of our kids being inclusive of others (unprompted by an adult) whether it is including those different from themselves or simply reaching out to someone who appears lonely. Last but not least, one of my favorite responses was, "An unmotivated student finding motivation in helping a struggling student." Talk about looking outside yourself...and learning to lean on each other…
Now for a few information items:
I am confident that I am forgetting something, but that is all I have for now. Don't forget to go to the EEF site to donate! And… I hope everyone gets to take advantage of what should be an absolutely beautiful long weekend.
Enjoy!

It's a GREAT Day to Be a Wildcat! Jennifer Grimes and Sonja Dieterichs WRMS Wildcat Club Co-Presidents NEWS Continuing his #BeKind Convocation theme, Dr. Tom Leonard will share information on our strategic priorities and our efforts to create a caring learning environment where all are valued. The influenza virus is a contagious respiratory illness that generally presents suddenly with high fevers, cough, body aches, fatigue, sore throat and sometimes stomach upset as well. It is typically passed through droplets in the air (or on hands) from coughing, sneezing or even talking, but it can also be spread through surface contact. It can range from mild to severe, but is typically treated at home with rest, hydration and treating the symptoms with medication. Good hygiene habits are especially important this time of year, and please keep your children home from school if they are sick. The CDC is a reliable source on all things flu: https://www.cdc. Please take some time to read and prepare to help keep our amazing students healthy! Join us for some learning opportunities! Please RSVP by emailing specialed@eanesisd.net at least 2 weeks prior to the date. SCHOOL CALENDAR WEST RIDGE MIDDLE SCHOOL
