MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL DIANNE CARTER
Happy Valentine's Day, Wildcat Families! I hope everyone survives today's sugar rush. There has certainly been happiness in the air today. A huge thank you to Student Council. They helped all of our teachers kick off the day with a smile. They went around the school yesterday evening and put a heart with a note on every single door! So kind… Honestly, the best part was watching our kids put them up yesterday. They were genuinely excited to do something special for our staff, and the joy on their faces was contagious. It has been another great week in classrooms. There were heated debates in social studies, meteors in science, a challenge to break out in IPC, transformers in math, and a flight school in Robotics. I'm sure that I have only hit the surface. Now for a few information items: - LLS Update - We have had a ridiculously successful first two weeks of fundraising for the LLS! Thank you!!! Last I knew, we had surpassed $15,000! That brings me to this - Next Wednesday (2/20) from 4:00 - 8:00 EAT @ Chick-fil-a! They will be donating a percentage of proceeds to our LLS campaign!
- Tennis Team - Tennis will be starting up soon! Please click THIS LINK to see an informational flyer. There will be an informational meeting on March 6th at 6:00pm at the WHS Tennis Courts.
- Volleyball for Guys - Click THIS LINK to check out a flyer about an opportunity to participate on a boys' volleyball team!
- MAP Scores - You guys probably saw the email from the district, but please do look back if you missed it for more detailed information. In a nutshell, all students' MAP scores will go home tomorrow! Our students take this assessment a few times throughout the year so that we can see their progress. It allows us to focus on any areas that may need extra attention. They are coming home along with a cover sheet that explains what you are looking at on the score page. Be sure to ask them about it tomorrow.
That is all for this week! Remember, we do not have school on Monday. I hope you all have a great long weekend that includes time to rest and relax. Enjoy! Dianne Carter There will be a mandatory informational Cheer Parent meeting for all new or returning cheerleaders for next school year on February 28th at 6 PM in the WRMS Library.
