Adopt-A Family Collection Day December 13, 2018 MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL DIANNE CARTER
Happy Thursday, Wildcat Families!
I hope you have all had a great week so far. We have certainly had a good one here at WRMS. You may remember that last week I mentioned a 7th grade science class doing a cool tour of the digestive system using Spheros. Well… One of our teachers won an award from Sphero for it! There has also been some pretty amazing excitement in 8th grade ELA classes this week. They are working through a learning experience that involves solving puzzles, running around to find clues, and other things to break out - all related to The Outsiders. It's been fun to watch! I also failed to mention in past weeks that both our band and choir programs had quite a few Wildcats that were selected to the All Region Band/Choir! Congrats to all of them for their dedication and hard work! Last but not least, today was Delivery Day for the Season of Giving. It was pretty amazing. A huge thank you goes out again to all those who have helped with the process of giving our kids a chance to give in a meaningful way.
The weather man says tomorrow will be chilly and it should be a pretty and cool weekend. I hope you all manage some rest and relaxation.
Enjoy!
It is impossible to put a value on the generosity and kindness displayed over the last couple of weeks. We cannot thank you enough for making this year's Adopt-a-Family Project successful beyond measure.
From November 26th through December 6th, your children...
Attended meetings
Last Thursday was Collection Day. Thanks to you and your Wildcats, children have towels for bathing and blankets to keep them warm at night. Several families now have pots and pans to cook in, dishes to eat from, silverware to eat with...and food to eat. Children who wouldn't otherwise have toys to open Christmas morning will now unwrap stuffed unicorns, remote control cars, art supplies, games, books and more. One family has an electronic tablet to share. Another has 4 new bicycles! And the list goes on and on.
TODAY was delivery day and the Parent Support Specialists at the two schools we support couldn't express enough how grateful they are of the generosity and kindness of others who do not even know them or their families. They are thankful beyond words. What a gift it is to give!
This holiday season is surely to be a glorious one for these children and their parents. And ours a little brighter by knowing we truly made a difference in so many lives.
THANK YOU - and may you and yours have the happiest of holidays.

There were so many nice things still in lost and found before the Thanksgiving break that we decided to give you a second chance. Please have your child (or you) come by and see if you have anything there waiting to come home with you. All items have been moved to the foyer, so no badge necessary to come take a look. EVERYTHING will be donated if not picked up by Friday, the 21st.
