Adopt-A Family Collection Day

December 7, 2018

MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL DIANNE CARTER

Happy Friday, Wildcat Families!

Please forgive this being a day late, but it was for a very good reason.  That reason? Joy…

I know I talk about joy often, and anytime you use the same word over and over it can start to become almost too common.  This is one of those times that there is no better word to use. The Season of Giving provides an opportunity for so many people to experience true joy.  I have seen the faces of the families on the receiving end. There were tears of joy and gratitude. Yesterday (and for the last week) I got to see the faces of those on the giving end (of all ages).  There were literally tears of joy and gratitude as well. This is special...this is what makes us human...this is what helps us connect to others in a deep and meaningful way. I am so grateful for all those in this community that have played a role in continuing this tradition.

I have to take just a second to give a shout out to our Theatre Program for some great entertainment this week!  I think the 5th graders really enjoyed it, and I hope some of you have been able to catch it!

I also have to brag a little on 7th grade science.  They have been working through all the systems of the human body.  The most recent was the digestive system, and the highlight was when they got to code Spheros to take a journey through the digestive system!  It was pretty cool, and the narratives were terrific.

There is really only one info item this week for our Orchestra parents.  Unfortunately, the Orchestra concert that was scheduled at COTA this weekend has been cancelled due to weather.  We do have the holiday concerts right around the corner for all of our fine arts programs.  We are also enjoying our basketball season as they are now a few games into it. I love getting to see our kids doing things they are proud of and that are outside the classroom.  It is rewarding entertainment!

I hope you are all able to spend some relaxing time this weekend and stay dry tonight.

Enjoy!
