West Ridge Reflections February 9, 2018 West Ridge Middle School Faculty vs Students Basketball Game - NJHS Fundraiser for LLS MESSAGE FROM INTERIM PRINCIPAL ROBIN LOWE Good afternoon parents! Yesterday afternoon, we had our first annual Faculty-Student Basketball game and it was a thriller! Our NJHS students coordinated the event as a fundraiser for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and they raised over $1200 with about 250 people in attendance. This was a completely student-led project from start to finish with a halftime show thrown in for good measure. We are so proud of our NJHS students for their efforts in making this event such a success! A big shout-out to our NJHS Co-Sponsors, Dominique Bayona and Brett Hotchkiss, for supporting and mentoring them. As for the game itself, the staff held off the students until Eric Goode hit a half court buzzer beater to send the game into overtime. At that point, the vitality of the students outscored and outran our staff (not that they are old or anything!). So in the end, the students won the first annual game, but I know that next year the staff will be looking to even the score! Have a wonderful weekend! Robin GRADE LEVEL TRANSITION INFO
