MESSAGE FROM INTERIM PRINCIPAL ROBIN LOWE
Parents,
I am bringing to your attention an issue that we are hearing about more and more at the secondary level, which is vaping. Unfortunately, vaping is the new "cool" thing for many students to try. While we have not had any specific incidents of vaping here at school, we are hearing that middle school students are trying it.
There is a program connected with UT that warns students about vaping and the dangers of e-cigarettes called Catch My Breath. Students taking Health will be exposed to the program during the course. However, I encourage all of you to take a moment and look at the website and I also encourage you to have those difficult conversations with your kids. Whether the conversation is about vaping, marijuana, sex, etc., it is important that your children hear your views on the subjects and not just the views of their friends.
Should you have any questions about this or how to have these difficult conversations with your kids, please let us know. Our school counselors are a wealth of information and of course, I would be more than happy to talk to you as well.

WILDCAT CLUB NEWS
- NOTE: Celebration West Ridge is during the afternoon tomorrow and IS part of the school day.
- Students will still attend all classes but each class will be shorter.
- There will be NO CAFETERIA LUNCH. Food vendors will be set up outside or students can bring their own lunch. Festivities will begin around 1pm after they pick up their wristbands and are dismissed from their Wildcat Time class.
- BUSES WILL RUN ON SCHEDULE, but will pick students up by the field instead of in the parking lot.
- IF YOUR CHILD needs to leave prior to their normal departure time, PLEASE MEET THEM IN THE OFFICE because you will need to check them out as usual.
Tomorrow is CELEBRATION WEST RIDGE!! Wildcats, get ready for some fun from 1-4pm.
- Did you pre-order a wristband/tickets for your student? If yes, then wristbands/tickets will be delivered to them during their Wildcat Time class immediately before the start of Celebration West Ridge. If you aren't sure, log in to your WCC account and check your orders by CLICKING HERE.
- Did you miss the pre-order deadline for purchasing wristbands/tickets for your student? If yes, don't panic! Wristbands and tickets will be on sale the entire time during Celebration West Ridge. You can send your student in with cash or a check made payable to WRMS Wildcat Club.
- Will students be eating lunch before Celebration West Ridge? Breakfast and Lunch will NOT be served in the cafeteria on Friday so make sure your student has tickets to purchase food or pack them a lunch.
All-Access Wristband = $25
Gives your child access to any of the rides & activities and one turn at Cakewalk.
All-Access Wristband + 10 tickets = $35
Gives your child access to any of the rides & activities and one turn at Cakewalk + 10 tickets to be used at any food vendor.
Tickets = $1 each
Food can ONLY be purchased with tickets.

8th Grade Football PINK OUT GAME
Paw Prints
The WRMS Paw Prints Program is a way for staff to reward students for positive behavior.
Students can use their Paw Prints to "buy" items in the spirit store - they have a value of 5 cents - OR can drop their Paw Prints in the the raffle bins located by the cafeteria doors next to the stairs.
Participating students and teachers will be able to win $25 gift certificates in any of our four raffles. Three students and two teachers will win per raffle.
The first raffles will take place on October 26th. Remaining raffle dates are:
- December 13th
- March 1st
- May 21st

You can now easily pay fees online! Log in to Skyward Family Access and select Fee Management. You will see required class fees as well as some items that may be temporarily listed for your student's classes (e.g., Choir uniform pieces).
Be sure to check if you need to pay any outstanding fees, including but not limited to:

- Teen Skills
- Art I & 2
- Athletics (if participating in sports)
