MESSAGE FROM INTERIM PRINCIPAL ROBIN LOWE

Hi everyone!

In case you haven't heard, there is a little competition going on between Hill Country and West Ridge concerning donations to the Eanes Educational Foundation (EEF). In fact, it isn't a little competition, but rather a Smack Down based on the participation percentage of our families. The losing principal has to wear the other school's spirit wear during the West Ridge vs Hill Country football games. This is not based on how much money is actually raised, but rather how many of our families participate in donating to EEF. Please don't make me wear their gear - I hate to lose!!

Also, I wanted to let you know a little bit more about our new Smart Tag system and how it works to replace the tag should your child lose it. So, let's say the unthinkable happens and your child loses his or her smart tag - not that this would ever happen to a tweenager! When your child requests a new tag, we will wait one week on our campus before reprinting. Initially, we were reprinting tags right away and I am sure you can guess what happened next. Yep - you are correct - the tags were miraculously found and we ended up with lots of unusable tags. There is no need to panic about a lost tag but I do want you to know that the district charges a $5 fee for each additional tag that must be printed. We have started scanning the cards in the cafeteria lines and eventually we will be using them in the library as well. So please encourage your child to actually bring it school and to get in the habit of holding onto it too!

TAKE & BAKE PIZZA FUNDRAISER - WRMS Band

The West Ridge Band is currently holding a fundraiser through Personal Slice, make-and-take pizza. Funds raised will go directly to students' band travel accounts to help pay for our trip to the Music for All National Festival in Indianapolis in March or our Spring Trip to San Antonio in April.

Now through October 14th, you are invited to order 14" cheese ($11), or custom topped ($14) make-and-take (uncooked) pizzas.

Your order will be delivered on Monday, October 16th.
