Counselor's Offices

Meet Amy Goodwin:
This year marks my ninth year as a Licensed Professional Counselor. After working in private practice, Iam thrilled to have a school counselor position at West Ridge. My previous teaching experience includes teaching special education at Westlake High School and teaching Social Studies at Hay's CISD's Alternative Learning Center. I received a full scholarship in track and field from the University of Southern California where I earned both a B.A. in History and a M.Ed. in Curriculum & Instruction. After USC, I attended Texas State and earned a M.Ed. in Counseling and Guidance. In my free time, I love to go to movies and live theater. I have written and produced two plays, and I'm currently working on a novel. I look forward to hearing all of your stories and helping make West Ridge a memorable experience!
Meet Brenda Lumsden:

Working with West Ridge students, parents, and staff is a gift!  It is great to be a part of one of the finest middle schools in t

he country!
My experience as a school counselor began at the elementary level.  After spending 10 years teaching and 10 years counseling in grades K-6th, I began working with junior high and middle school students.  There was no turning back once I discovered the rewards of working with adolescents.  This year begins my 16th at the secondary level!  Five of those years were spent in Richardson ISD and two were in Round Rock.I have spent a total of 8 years with WRMS students and staff.

I attended Texas Tech University and I'm a proud Red Raider!  I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education there.  I also attended the University of North Texas, where I earned a Masters degree in Guidance and Counseling Education.  I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and worked in a private counseling practice in Arlington, Texas.  Working in a school setting is definitely my preference.

Spending time with family and close friends is my favorite pastime.  I also enjoy interior decorating, exercising, and touring the Hill Country on the back of a Harley Davidson motorcycle!

Meet Robert Rowland:
I attended The University of Texas and earned my under graduate degree in Psychology then returned to get my Masters in Social Work. After graduating with my masters I worked in a private practice setting and then went to work for EISD as a Special Education Counselor. I worked for EISD for the next 17 years and then went into private practice and also worked with the Travis County Sheriff's Department. I returned to EISD in August of 2007 after being gone for 3 years and I am excited about being back working with the great students and wonderful faculty at WRMS.

I am married and we have a daughter at UT and a son who is in middle school. My wife is also a Social Worker at the Capital School where she does play therapy . I enjoy playing soccer, fishing and riding bikes with my son.
