MESSAGE FROM INTERIM PRINCIPAL ROBIN LOWE

Image

Parents,

I just want to take a moment to brag on what great students we have at West Ridge! Of course, you know this because they are your kids! Honestly, I have been in several middle schools over the course of my career and you have really special kids here.

I am not talking about academics right now. I am talking about how you are raising respectful adolescents who care about those around them. I cannot walk down the hall without students greeting me, smiling, and holding doors. When Hurricane Harvey hit, I immediately received requests from students asking how they could help and coming up with ideas and ways to fundraise to provide relief.

Please know that this just doesn't happen everywhere. Kids going through adolescence can be so frustrating to their parents, but rest assured, whatever you are doing - it is working! They really are the kind, respectful, thoughtful children that you hope they are when you are not around!

Have a wonderful weekend -

Robin

REQUEST FROM COUNSELORS & NURSE

Image

Hello West Ridge Middle School Families,

We hope that you are back in the groove of school and that things are running smoothly for you now.  The counseling department and the nurse's clinic would love some help restocking our snacks.  We have students who at times come to our office/clinic, and they need a snack to get them through the day.

Below you will find a list of suggested snack items:

Individual packages of cheese crackers, gold fish, granola bars, macaroni and cheese, fruit snacks, chips, and small water bottles.  We try to avoid snacks with nuts and peanuts due to students with allergies.

These items can be dropped off in the front office at your convenience.  We greatly appreciate you!

Sincerely,

Kiran Avasthi, Christy Catalano, Jamie McKenney, and Susan Murphy
