West Ridge Middle School

Wildcat Families,

Our school year has gotten off to a great start!  The first day jitters of our new sixth graders and new staff members (including me!) seem to have settled down and everyone seems happy to be back in the learning!

Next week are our Back to School Nights and we are so looking forward to getting to know each of you.  Some of you are old hands at this, but for those of you new to the process, we will start with a meeting in the cafeteria and then you will be visiting all your child's classes, except for Wildcat Time.  It will be a time for you to experience what your child experiences in trying to traverse each class, but you won't have to make a trip to your locker!  Whew!

I would also like to remind you to support the Wildcat (Booster) Club this year.  Honestly, I don't know what we would do without your support.  This year already, Suzanne Newhouse and Aimee Cunningham, our Wildcat Club co-presidents, have coordinated food for the staff, volunteers for the all back to school activities, and welcomes for our new teachers.  What amazing ladies!  Starting off our school year with so much support gives all of us a feeling that this is a true community effort and we so appreciate it!

Thank you for entrusting your children to our care and we will see all of you next week at our Back to School nights!

Back to School Nights

6th Grade Parents - Tuesday, August 29, 6-8pm (kick off in Cafeteria)

Approval will lower District's total tax rate by 3.25 cents and increase amount of local tax revenue that stays in the community

We are excited to officially kick off the program this year, which will streamline services including transportation and cafeteria meal transactions as well as coordinate campus dismissal preferences electronically with parents of elementary students.

A very warm welcome and welcome back to all parents from your Wildcat Club!  We are excited to be working with another great Executive Board, and wanted to take this opportunity to introduce the officers:

Co-Presidents: Aimee Cunningham and Suzanne Newhouse

Treasurer: Kori Phenegar

Secretary: Jennifer Muyshondt

Presidents-Elect: Terri Ganem and Karen Martin

Treasurer-Elect: Karra Guess

No-Hassle Fundraiser Co-Chairs: Lisa Doggett and Gena Keller

A HUGE Thank You to all of our volunteers who are committee chairs filling 33 different committees! They are giving their time and talents, some for a second or third year in a row, to help us with our various events and activities. We are so very appreciative of the over 150 parents who signed up to volunteer for one or more of the committees…we couldn't do it without our volunteers!

THANK YOU to Bee Cave Orthodontics for sponsoring Wildcat Warm Up and giving out those awesome WRMS string bags to all of our wildcats! We appreciate ALL that you do to support our WRMS community!!

A special Thank You to all of our Wildcat Warm-Up volunteers for an awesome start-of-the-year event. And thank you to Laura Boone and Sabra Boone who did an amazing job managing over 230 6th graders who attended the back to school swim party at Lost Creek Country Club. The kids had a blast!
