Parents,

First of all, thank you for supporting EEF and helping us win the Smack Down against Hill Country.

While the Smack Down is a fun competition between the schools, the most important part is the money raised that provides staff members for all Eanes schools. I assure you that the positions are not only needed, they are vital to the success of our programs

Second, thank you for letting me preach a little in last week's message. I appreciate the opportunity for honest talk between the administration and the parents. Nowhere is that talk more important than in the middle school years when our kids are at such a critical stage in their development. I look forward to more conversations with you!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Robin

COLLEGE TUTORS EDUCATOR OF THE QUARTER!

Image

It is our honor to announce the first ever College Tutors Educator of the Quarter award recipient for West Ridge Middle School, Brett Hotchkiss

The purpose of the award is to highlight and recognize middle and high school educators that act as a role model for our students in Eanes ISD.

The award, given with input from the school administration, recognizes educators that personify the three core values of College Tutors: Can Do, Results Matter, and Leave It Better. This quarter, we are recognizing three educators in the area.

At West Ridge Middle School, we recognize Brett Hotchkiss.  She is a 7th grade science teacher who values building relationships with her students to better understand their interests and learning styles.  Brett says that some of her proudest moments as an educator include increasing her student's self confidence in their intelligence and helping them to reach their full potential. We got to know more about Brett and her teaching background and advice.

CONGRATULATIONS, Ms. Hotchkiss on this well-deserved award!

This holiday season West Ridge will continue its tradition of changing the holiday story for families throughout Austin.

We will adopt, serve and touch the lives of over 50 families in the Austin area.

Beginning November 28th, each Wildcat Time will "adopt" a family and work together to develop plans for serving adopted families' needs, fulfilling Wish List items, writing letters/making cards for families, and assisting with the organization before the deliveries are made.

Stay tuned for more information!

DISTRICT NEWS

Let your voice be counted. More info on the Penny Swap & Drop: www.eanesisd.net/pennyswap

Our shared commitment to attract and retain high-quality teachers is just one reason we called for a TRE to swap two pennies, lower the tax rate and generate $3 million of additional operating funds that will stay local.

Social Emotional Learning (SEL) focus highlights self-awareness and self-management. Educating teens about the mindfulness research and the benefits of mindfulness is a way to support teens in developing their own mindful practice. Building autonomy, competence, and connection with our kids develops self-reliant, competent and resilient adults.
