MESSAGE FROM INTERIM PRINCIPAL ROBIN LOWE

Image

Hi Parents,

Just wanted to bring to your attention to a couple of things this week:

Monday, September 25th - District Open House for our new, expanded Fine Arts facility begins at 6:00 P.M.   Directly following, there will be an Informational Community Meeting about the proposed Penny Swap & Drop hosted by Dr. Leonard in our Library at 7:00 P.M.

•The Wildcat Club (booster club) is winding up our annual No Hassle Fundraiser. If you haven't yet donated, I would encourage you to do so. Our Wildcat Club supports students and teachers each year by renovating computer labs, adding water bottle filling stations, creating a new teacher's lounge, and celebrating our students with Celebration West Ridge, our Medieval Fest and the Year End cookout. We owe each of you a debt of thanks for providing the extras that make West Ridge such an amazing place to learn and work!!

•If you pick up your child in the afternoon, please be careful parking at or near the intersection of Scenic Bluff and Scenic Bluff. Oncoming cars turning left do not have clear visibility when cars are parked there, which in turn creates safety concerns for cars and pedestrians.

Have an amazing weekend!!

Robin

DISTRICT NEWS

Approval will lower District's total tax rate by 1.25 cents and increase amount of local tax revenue that stays in the community

We are excited to officially kick off the program this year, which will streamline services including transportation and cafeteria meal transactions as well as coordinate campus dismissal preferences electronically with parents of elementary students.

What do a great DJ, glow necklaces, pizza and basketballs have in common? Wildcat Night Out!

THANK YOU to Kristin Paull for organizing Wildcat Night Out and making sure everything ran smoothly! And thank you to ALL of our parent volunteers who helped ensure a safe and exciting evening for all of our Wildcats! It was a huge success and lots of fun!   So successful, in fact, that we are able to donate $500 to the Hurricane Harvey Relief efforts from our door sales.

WRMS NO-HASSLE FUNDRAISER

Thank You to those who have already given to the WRMS No-Hassle Fundraiser (NHF).  Because of all of your support, we are currently at 34% participation…that's 6% more than last week!

As we all continue to strive to strengthen our WRMS community, we wish to remind you that you still have an opportunity to help us reach our goal of 100% participation.  No gift is too small as we enter the final phase of our No-Hassle campaign.

NHF Drop-Off Line/Donation Day is this upcoming Tuesday, 9/26. If you don't want to donate online AND don't want to get out of your car, we'll send someone over to your window!

OR if you prefer to donate online, you can do so at:  NoHassle.WildcatBoosterClub.org

You can also drop off checks/cash at the front office anytime.

SNACK DONATIONS

Image

Hello West Ridge Middle School Families,

We hope that you are back in the groove of school and that things are running smoothly for you now.  The counseling department and the nurse's clinic would love some help restocking our snacks.  We have students who at times come to our office/clinic, and they need a snack to get them through the day.

Below you will find a list of suggested snack items:

Individual packages of cheese crackers, gold fish, granola bars, macaroni and cheese, fruit snacks, chips, and small water bottles.  We try to avoid snacks with nuts and peanuts due to students with allergies.

These items can be dropped off in the front office at your convenience.  We greatly appreciate you!

Sincerely,

WRMS Counselors - Kiran Avasthi, Christy Catalano, Jamie McKenney & Nurse Susan Murphy
