9/8 Announcements:
So you think you are coming to the dance this Friday? Well your Future is So Bright You Gotta Wear NEON! All 7th and 8th graders are invited to the Drama Dept. Dance this Friday, Sept 10 from 7-9pm. New DJ with LIGHT SHOW, PRIZES for BRIGHTEST DRESSED and plenty of great concessions! Cost is $5 at the door, wear your brightest NEON colors and don't forget to bring extra money for snacks and drinks!
To all students running for student council!
Elections are this Thursday during advisory. To campaign, you may place up to 3 posters in the halls. These posters must be brought to Ms. Friedman for approval before being put up. You may NOT distribute candy or other goodies to solicit votes. If caught doing so, it will be confiscated!
Reminder for students testing for admission to the Gifted and Talented Program:
Parent copies of the GATES Evaluation forms are due today. Please bring the forms to the office or to Mrs. Reese in room 224.
It's time to sign up for the Destination Imagination program! Any WRMS student in grades 6-8 can join a team of up to seven people to demonstrate creative solutions to one of several open-ended challenges. You don't have to know anyone else to join a team! Come and sign up on Mrs. Reese's door in room 224! We will then have a meeting to share this year's challenge summaries and form teams. Already have a team? No problem! Sign up on Mrs. Reese's door in room 224!
9/7 Announcements:
All Students: Homework Club begins today. If you have signed up for Homework Club, please report to Miss Woods room #213 immediately after school. You will be receiving a little reminder during your 7th period class today. I can't wait to see you all this afternoon.
8th Grade NJHS Students: If you are applying for an officer position, please don't forget that your applications and your speeches are due TODAY! There is an official NJHS meeting during advisory tomorrow so that we can vote for our officers. If you need another hall pass, please come see Miss Woods BEFORE advisory tomorrow. I'll see you all then!

Sickness, Absences, & Homework Issues
When your children are ill and have to stay home, please keep the following in mind.
All homework requests go through Joan Kothe (jkothe@eanesisd.net or 732-9240) in the front office. The guidelines follow:
On the 3rd day a student is absent, the parents may call or email the office for homework.
Requests should be made before 11 am in order to have time to get them to the teachers and then back to the office. The office closes at 4:15
Teacher web sites are a great source of information for homework and daily activities and assignments.
